Trying New Things

So, I’m not really a vegan but I play one on tv, lol. I’m eat a vegan diet about 80% of the time, mostly without trying. I like things that are quick to make and defrosting meat never really fit into that. I wanted to start eating vegan because I thought my meals would be more well-rounded instead of lets say…a can of green beans for dinner. I still occasionally eat meat or non-vegan. I mean I live in the middle of nowhere and some dairy or meat substitutes are just hard to find. I can however find different nuts, tofu and fresh herbs, although I haven’t been brave enough to try tofu yet.

So far my plan has worked, I’ve loved the food I’ve made so far. My meals are definitely more nutritious than can of vegetables. I went grocery shopping this weekend and looked up a bunch of recipes on http://vegweb.com/ . So far I’ve made the spinach and rice casserole and the carrot hash brown which I ventured into tonight. The carrot hash browns also cost me a chunk of my thumb which I’m still a little hurt about. Food graders should just be outlawed, it made the biggest cut and I saw way too much white meat. After tending to my wounds and a little bit more sea salt the hash browns turned out well also.

I also use vegan chap stick, I don’t know why, but I do. I bought mine off of etsy.com
